Roca Barcelona Gallery has obtained B Greenly certification, an international sustainability certification standard for venues and events that recognizes the integration of environmental, social, and economic criteria into the management and operations of spaces. This recognition endorses the Gallery’s commitment as a model of responsible management aligned with the principles of sustainability.

The certification process involved a comprehensive evaluation of ten key areas -- general aspects, space, mobility, environmental protection, water and energy, food, waste, communication, carbon footprint, and assessment -- carried out using a methodology grounded in international best practices and aligned with recognised frameworks such as GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the 2030 Agenda. As a result, Roca Barcelona Gallery achieved an overall score of 73%, exceeding the threshold required to be certified as a sustainable venue under the B Greenly standard.

An iconic building committed to sustainability

Roca Barcelona Gallery, the brand’s first flagship building, is a multidisciplinary 2,400 m² space spread across three floors, conceived as a meeting point for architecture, design, innovation, and sustainability. Designed by architects Borja, Carlos, and Lucía Ferrater (OAB – Office of Architecture in Barcelona), the building is inspired by the different phases and states of water, a central element both in its architectural concept and in the visitor experience.

The B Greenly audit highlights Roca Barcelona Gallery’s main strengths as its excellent connectivity in terms of mobility, with easy access by public transport, on foot, or by bicycle; its contribution to local economic development through a local supply chain; the measures implemented to minimize acoustic and light impact, ensuring respectful coexistence with the city; and the efficient, accessible, and flexible design of the space, supported by the use of digital technologies and modular furniture that optimizes resources.

Social, cultural, and local impact

The report also higlights Roca Barcelona Gallery’s role as a platform for cultural outreach and a driver of local development. The space fosters collaboration with its stakeholders, promoting talent in the fields of architecture, design, and sustainability. It further emphasises the use of its facilities for educational and community reflection activities, such as urban debates and events linked to sustainability and the SDGs.

The certification also positively assesses the team’s training in sustainability, its commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as collaboration with social and environmental organizations, including the We Are Water Foundation, with which awareness-raising initiatives on water stewardship are carried out for diverse audiences.

The attainment of this certification forms part of Roca Group’s global sustainability strategy, based on the integration of environmental, social, and ethical criteria across all its operations. This distinction contributes to the Group's outstanding performance in sustainability, which in 2025 was recognised with the EcoVadis Platinum Medal -- the highest level of this international standard -- placing Roca Group among the top 1% of companies worldwide. In this way, Roca Barcelona Gallery serves as a tangible expression of a corporate vision aimed at generating a positive impact on people and the planet.
