In 2018, we started a global programme called “Let’s make a deal”, together with the We Are Water Foundation, with the goal of reducing the water consumption of the Group’s plants.
The water that we would save would be given a monetary value, which would be used to build two reservoirs to capture, store and distribute water to support the agricultural sector on which over 80% of the population of a district in India depend.
A total of 15 plants took part in the project, saving over 25 billion litres of water and raising €15,000 for the construction of the two reservoirs.
Three years after the start of the project, we are thrilled to report that the reservoirs in India are now in place!
The two reservoirs with a capacity of 33,000 m3 and 48,300 m3 that have been built to collect rainwater in Settipalli and D.K.Thanda are now fully operational.
This initiative has made it possible to provide water to 26 surface wells (five in Settipalli and 21 in D.K.Thanda).
And, as we promised at the event at the end of 2019, when we awarded prizes to the three plants with the greatest savings (Alcalá de Henares, Gavá and Dewas)…
In 2022, representatives from each of the four winning plants had the opportunity to visit India to see the impact of the project and see with their own eyes how it has changed the lives of local people.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the Let’s Make a Deal project for their effort to achieve the objectives. We would also like to congratulate you for your commitment to sustainability.
We would particularly like to thank the representatives who travelled to India (Javier Apolonio, Sergio López, Isidro Sesé and Jyotirmoy Roy) for their enthusiastic participation during the visit and Rajiv Saini (Training Manager India), the We Are Water Foundation and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation (Rural Development Trust) for their support in coordinating the event.
